What is the best way to teach a three year old to recognize colors and shapes?.. especially whey they do not seem interested at all!

    Just incorporate shapes and colors into things they like such as toys and foods. Do not force their learning...let them explore and discover things.

    Regarding colors at least:

    When my (now 23-year-old) nephew was between 1 and 2 years of age, I made four small 4"x4" pillows, identical except for color. He quickly grasped the idea of color because that was how he could identify which one was which. His names for the colors were "reh, yeh, boo, gre."

    I don't remember shapes being any problem. He pretty much got that on his own, I think.
