  • In order to convert to Mormonism, one must meet with missionaries from this church (call 1-888-LDS-7700 to get the phone number for missionaries in your area) in order to learn more about the beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After meeting with the missionaries, one may request to be baptized.
  • First, you have to have an understanding of the nature of Christ, so that you can know WHY you should join the Church. Generally (but not always) this means meeting with missionaries and getting several simple lessons in doctrine and history. When your faith is sufficient, you will be ready for the next step. Next you must repent of your sins. That doesn't mean that you have to be perfect, you just have to do your best. When your faith is strong enough that you feel ready for the ordinance to be performed, you will meet with your new bishop or branch president. He will interview you to make sure that you understand and are spiritually ready. Then you will be baptized (by complete immersion unless you are not physically capable of being immersed in water); after that, a you will be confirmed by the laying on of hands by a member of the Priesthood. It's a simple process, and your friends and family are invited to come to the baptism and watch that ordinance being performed.
