  • Same reason that Mac software will not work on a PC. They are different operating systems which is the "core" if you will of the machine, the base from which everything else works. A windows program for example may make a call to a specific windows component that doesn't exist in the Mac architecture and vice versa. Think of the difference between AC and DC electrical supplies. Same basic idea and building blocks - electrical current but they operate in different ways and an appliance designed to run on DC will not work with AC and vice versa (well they will if you use something to transform the current for the appliance and you can sort of do the same with computers, they are called emulators). Crude analogy but there you go. :)
