  • he not only never really replies when i need an answer, i dont know if he recieves something I sent, or I tell him something in perosn and all he does is stand there smiling and say "Ok." so it is like what the heck!? Communication is a big key for me, so i find it annoying.
  • Sounds like he is not qualified for the job. Perhaps his job is not what was told to you and he is there to see where cuts need to be made. Many companies will slip someone in just to make sure everyone is productive.
  • First, make sure that he is receiving your emails. Put a read receipt on your email so when he opens the email, you will know it was received. Next, Put a time line or a "response needed by ____" tag within the body of your email. This way, everything is documented and your butt is covered should something not get done. Some people are just lazy or do not realize that a response is appreciated to keep people informed and on top of things. Hope this helps.
  • he is trying to not to use up his reserves, and he is seeing if his answer is worth it ...if you are simply just worrying he will not bother answering, but it is always nice to have acknowledgement that you are doing something right
  • Each office has its own protocol..a roadmap of the way things work. Are you sure that you are not out of line sending him emails? You have said he is not anyone's supervisor. Perhaps he is too busy doing his job and sees no need to deal with you since you are not his responsibility. He may think that you are trying to gain points with him. I'd back off immediately. You should go to your supervisor if you have any questions. Just my opinion. :)
  • Someone suggested having a read receipt when sending the email. I think this tells a lot about the person sending the email, insecure is something on top of my head. Not only that, read receipts are loathed by persons who actually receive the email, because if they send a read receipt, it means that they've read the email (which is impossible when the read receipt just pops up in front of you the moment you click on the email). I, and every other single professional I know, have disabled sending read receipts. Now since you and your Project Manager are in the same company then there's no way he's not receiving your email. Now the question is, are your questions important, and are you 100% sure that he's the right person to ask these questions for? I'm not taking his side but in this day and age ignoring emails is just part of anyone's daily life.
