How do you keep a pumpkin from rotting so quickly after it's been carved?

each night submerge it in a bucket of cold water - take it out in the morning and it will be fresh as a daisy

I use hair spray It seems to work fairly well and makes it look shiny

use a lubricate on the carved areas. Some people use lip glass, I like to use vaseline cause its cheap.

hair spray or clear spray paint if you're not going to put a candle inside.
