  • That is an excellent question, gabstar. "Studying" a book and simply reading it for pleasure are two entirely different things. It's comparable to taking a music class in which you dissect great pieces of music..you focus on the nuts and bolts. I got pleasure in studying certain books, if the information in them excited me. But in general, reading for pleasure is better and listening to music simply to hear it is better..for me! :) Happy Thursday! :)
  • i used to study pharmacology n other text books, yeah thats true studying the books took away the pleasure of reading it,
  • I did some Shakespeare, and some other bits. I think breaking them into bits made them easier to understand, and that increased my enjoyment
  • I had Ring of Bright Water. I can't stand books or films where animals die, so I didn't actually read the end of it, even at the time. Tenant of Wildfell Hall. I waited a good few years, but I did enjoy it when I read it again.
  • I had a good teacher that dissected Macbeth for the class. It put it in a whole new light. I enjoyed that. Another teacher took apart Romeo and Juliet, but in such a dry way that I found myself....zzzzzzzzzzz
