Who knows? Wanna fight about it! :) The United Nations, in all their wisdom, created the nation of ISRAEL in 1948. It did not exist prior to this. Perhaps the UN should take some responsibility and put in a few of its "PEACEKEEPERS."

The people deserve the land, and the people deserve peace.

The spellings are Palestine and deserve. Have you ever seen Crocodile Dundee? I think his comment about not owning the land, and claims to land being like fleas fighting over who owns the dog they are on most apt for this. People are dying and miserable for this fight.

Every Sunday we pray for peace in the Middle East and every Sunday I think "man, that's asking a lot of God". I'm not sure at this point that any division of the land, no matter who you think deserved it, would stop the fighting.

The people of Palestine, which is Israel, deserve the land. What i want to see is a united Holy Land, from the river to the sea, where Muslims, Jews, Christians, Scientologists - i don't care - set up a democratic society and live in peace.

Every nation/people should have the right to self declare and establish a national homeland. Both deserve land. Arguing who was first is futile, since this dates back to Biblical times and the temple period in Jerusalem. Israel as a modern state was established in 1948 but the people of Israel were in the land 3000 years ago, before they were exiled into the diaspora.

both should live in peace, no side is better than the other, both have resorted to terrorism (Palestinians lately, zionists when israel was simply an idea), both have some claim to the land from a previous owner (mcmahon-hussein, and the rothschild letter with the british gov). the bible cannot be considered legally binding when a lot of the world doesnt believe in it

Neither. Inspired by Paris Hilton, here is my plan! I think we should get the United Nations to declare it a Free Tibet. Move the Dali Llama and all of the refugee Tibetans into their new country. Then they could begin peaceful negotiations with China to trade New Tibet for old Tibet. As China would love a foothold in the middle east, once the trade is made, China can effectively mount a peacemaking mission in and around their new property. We could...and should pull our troops out of the area and let China do what it does best; (over)manage things. This leaves both Palestine and Israel in the same boat and their chances of making peace will be improved.

set up a secular federation and give it a new name eg abrail

Palestine, it's their land just like half of the US belongs to Mexico and the other half to the Native Americans
