Why did the US invade Iraq without the United Nation's approval?

The same reason a dog licks hisself. Because he can. The higher ups wanted to go back into Iraq so it was done. The Polititions did what they always do by lieing to each other and lieing to the American People. Once, they got it started, they accused those opposing it as un-patriotic and not supportive of the troops. Now, most polititions that approved of the invasion claim they were mislead. It was a smokescreen.

The UN had 17 resolutions on Iraq at that point. Plus, the UN is not a credible nor relevant organization anyway.

I'm dodging the Iraq part of the question and going straight at the UN approval part. The US doesn't need UN approval to do anything. I hope you don't believe that it does. You will find some very sketchy leaders on the UN security council that will veto a resoultion with practically any country that one might deem a threat.

Because us (the UK) backed it that's all that Matters to us two great nations. We both have a history of doing what we want when we want,the Falklands, Vietnam etc I guess the point is we don't care.
