Well I guess you would have to be a little specific. What teachings are you in reference to? Also just to point this out, believing and practicing are different. I think he falls under this better, generally speaking. Whatever the case, he certainly is not teaching what the bible teaches.

I'm going to say yes, because I don't think you get to be Pope by faking it.

I imagine yes he does believe what he preaches. He's got the big "F" word on his side (faith). To get to the point of being the end all be all authority of what God wants, and to feel yourself worthy of that title, you have to have become so brainwashed that your brain is now squeeky clean.

You need to understand that when Catholics say the Pope is infallible, they are using a very narrow definition of the word. It does NOT mean he can never make a mistake, say in doing a calculus problem or forgetting his best friend's birthday. It means that he is protected from teaching in error WHEN and ONLY WHEN he teaches on matters of doctrine and morals for the Catholic Church. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will protect Peter, the first Pope, and the Church itself, and Catholics believe that. And yes, I think Pope Benedict 16th believes what he teaches.

Yes, he truly believes in the Nazi ideology. My 2 cents.
