  • Pick them up and carry them as much as you and they want to, all too soon they will be to big to carry.
  • Do what ever works best for you. Now, if they refuse to walk and are throwing a fit because you don't want to carry them at the moment, that's a completely different story.
  • I see nothing wrong with picking up smaller kids and carrying them around. They get too old when they get too heavy, IMO. :)
  • No, I don't think it's ridiculous although I do not carry mine around...she's pretty independent and always wants to run around and explore. There isn't just one way to raise a kid...as long as your baby and you are happy, I say screw what people say...it's none of their business! :)
  • I pick my children up and hold them as much as they'll let me. My 3 year old will still let me hold her as much as I want, but my 4 year old son doesn't like to be held, and my 6 year old, she's too heavy to be carrying around. She prefers to sit in my lap. Whoever told you they're too old to be picked up, should mind their business..
  • I love to pick up, carry, hold my grandchildren. Nothing compares to having those little arms around you. Fills your heart, calms your soul! You cuddle those children as much as you want, dear!
  • I think it's special and beautiful to pick up and carry a toddler .. as long as it does not become a continual habit where the child is in need of and demanding it 24/7 :)
  • Whoever told you that has some serious issues. If you have a toddler, it's just a matter of time before you wouldn't be able to pick them up.
  • If my 2 year old gets tired of walking I will pick her up and carry her. I enjoy it. I see nothing wrong with it and don't see why anyone else would.
