  • Depends - if you bought them at the grocery store (poor you!), then yes, they need refrigerated - they've already been off the vine for too long, and they're already about as tasteless as they can get. If you picked them out of your garden (then you must share!), no. Store them upside down on the windowsill in your kitchen. You want to pick them slightly green on the tops - if you don't, the bottoms will be rotten and the tops underripe. Storing them upside down in the sunlight helps them finish ripening properly, and storing them at room temperatures keeps the juices nice and free, so they taste better. Edit: They don't last as long at room temperature - eat them within a week or so.
