  • Yes, it is often recommended. It keeps your sinuses from becoming too dry. Better yet...use a vaporizor with some menthol. My mom always used that when I was a kid suffering from a cold or flu. swabby
  • Vicks and some other brands have come out with these little things you can plug in and insert vapor strips. I like them alot better than a humidifer now. It releases the menthol vapor throughout the whole room for the whole night. I've used them for my son every time he gets congested. They work wonders. Also Vicks make little tablets you can use in the shower stall that melts under the hot water. Those are amazing too. A humidifer will work, but they're too noisy and too much work for me. I personally prefer the other things. No mess.
  • Definitely! They help keep the nose draining and the throat moist. Make sure the inside is good and clean! If it has a filter or "wick" or sponge pad, make sure it is clean and doesn't smell, or you can get alot of bacteria and mold in the air that is not healthy. The best kind of humidifiers today use a mist that has no bacteria or mold in it, because they either boil the water or use an ultra violet light to make sure the mist that comes out is pure and clean and healthy.
  • Last year I had the flu. Even after I got over the flu itself, I spent weeks battling mild bronchitis, wheezing, coughing, headaches, sinusitis, all sorts of breathing problems... Finally I dug out my humidifier, cleaned it out, used it, and got well in less than a week. All that because my lungs, nose, sinuses, etc., didn't have the GOOD moisture it needed.
