  • The pol should have to choose allegiances. If the pol dropped the citizenship before running for office, I'd be suspicious.
  • I think a politician should have only one nationality. If he/she has chosen one country then they only need the nationality of that country.
  • I don't think asking him to renounce a piece of paper is going to change his actions much. If he genuinely favours the other country over the one he has been elected for, he will do so whatever the citizenship paper says. You have to evaluate his honesty before you elect him. I have no problem with people having dual citizenship and yet promising to serve one couintry. While he serves in a role, he is honour bound to perform the duty hea has sworn to do. Until there is a preety serious disagreement - close on a real war - between the two, I see no problem. We all play many roles and have many obligations. My company did not ask me to give up my faamily when I joined them - but family and company conflict far more than most countries conflict.
