How on earth can some people fanatically oppose aborion when sometimes babies are severely deformed, or the woman has been a victim of rape?

I agree to a sense but i understand why some oppose it. They truly do not want a life to be taken no matter what the circumstance. Does that mean i agree with them? no. Sarah Palin said she does not support abortion even in the case of incest, forced incest, or severe deformity. only in the case that it endangers the life of the mother. To me, its better that whatever needs to be done, gets done by a doctor so that the lady does not get a severe infected from doing it herself or killing the child after the child has been born. Why force someone to have a child they do not want or cannot care for? Idk.

People with the opposite view to you ask how anybody can kill a baby, born or not. In my opinion both sets of people are entitled to their opinions, I just wish they would accept each other's rights to hold opinions different from their own.

I am pro choice but I hope the choice is life...I don't believe I can play "God" and decide who is good enough to be born. I have been assaulted, but thankfully not impregnated by the act. I don't believe I could abort because of it. I am thankful I have not had to be in that position.

its because they probably feel its wrong to take life. In my opinion, there may be some very rare occasions where compassion is needed, and it may be appropriate to abort, but I cant think of many justifications

I was raped, I kept the baby. And shes the love of my life, plus my boyfriend is really supportive.

A life is a life regardless of how he/she came to be, or if the child is born with special needs. If you don't want the child for whatever reason, there is always adoption. I have stood by friends ( with hugs and compassion ) who chose to abort not because I believe they did the right thing but because it was their decision and as a friend, I will always be there for them. They know how I feel about abortion but how *I* feel only applies to me. I don't/won't judge anyone who decides that they can't go through with giving birth . Of course I let them know they have options but in the end, it's not my call. All I can do is be there for them with whatever decision they make.

because its not the babies fault and the mother can always put it up for adoption. i dont fanatically oppose anything though i dont give a shit what people do with their babies but i would always let mine live.

Well, seeing as I am the product of a date rape....... And my child has a genetic disorder that, if my genetic testing hadn't been lost, I might have aborted her........ That child did not commit the rape. That child isn't even an innocent bystander. That child wasn't there. It may be a product of the crime, but it is not the crime and it does not deserve to die for the sins of its father. One of my friends bore the children of two different rapists and gave them both up for adoption. She has never been able to have children with her husband, and she has pined for those two children for the 16 years that I've known her. There isn't a day that goes by that she doesn't think of them and speak of them.

Because they believe it's murder. Personally... I'm in the belief that until the fetus is viable it is the choice of the mother, but if someone truly believes it's murder I don't know how they can pick and choose when it's ok to do so. I don't think it's a fanatical belief.

How on earth can people want an innocent person executed for someone else's crime? My mother was the product of rape, and she was made so ashamed of the fact that she kept it a secret until she was on her deathbed. Society has NO right to judge these children!
