  • Yes. That often happens to me. I think the social contact with the doctor livens one up so the symptoms seems not as bad as they were at home. Also, one tends to forget some of the symptoms when your face to face with the doctor. I now write them down and give him my 'shopping list' when I go in.
  • Oh, yes. Happens all the time. One reason is because it usually takes a long time to get an appointment! Also, if the symptoms are intermittent, statistically there's a fairly good chance that they won't be present during a 10-15 minute visit. When I see a patient who tells me this, I usually laugh and say, "Of course. Just like your appliance will work when the repairman comes." I tell them that I'm taking the symptoms seriously even if they're not present right then.
