  • I'm pretty sure the word "gamelan" is Indonesian, as I believe it's a musicla instrument unique to that part of the world.
  • Well I'm not aware I know any.. but I'll be interested to see what people come up with. I'm not dead yet so I'm still learning
  • Saya boleh cakap sedikit Bahasa Indonesia. Growing up in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, I had Indonesian maids look after me while both my parents were at work, in fact my first word was mobil, followed by kereta api, my mum used to laugh that one time at age 2 she took me out shopping and there was a sports car parked outside a shop, she turned to me and said "look a Ferari", I promptly looked her in the eye with deadly seriousness and said "tak, itu kereta tak Ferrari, itu yang Lamborghini". Other random Bahasa words I know, Cendela(window), pintu(door), api(fire), air(water), perut sakit(stomach ache, and I used this to great effect when I wanted to stay home from school), kepala sakit(headache, another of my famous excuses), pergi(to go), jalan(walk or road), tak mau(heard frequently at the dinner table growing up), mandi(bathe), sejuk(cold), panas(hot), baju(clothes), baru(new), bahasa(language obv.), tak tau(don't know), siapa(who), itu(that), nasi(rice), mee(noodles), segar(fresh), manis(sweet), baut(smelly), mata(eye), mata hari(sunglasses), tolong(help), sedikit(a little), saja(only), ada(to have), anjing(dog), kuching(cat), boleh(can), kecil(small), besar(big), banyak(very/a lot), gumut(fat), perempuan(woman), hari(day), pasar raya(super market), anak(child), kiri(left or right, I'm mildly dyslexic), kanan(the other one to kiri), minum(drink), makan(eat), makanan(food), ikan(fish), hijau(green), putih(white), hitam(black), malam(night), lampu(light), buka(open), tutup(close), main(play), cakap(tell), bodoh(stupid), semalam(last night), bikin(make), mana(where), sekejap(a short while), tungu(wait), kawan(friend), sukat(to like), jatuk(to fall), roti(bread), pisang(banana), tidur(sleep), nyamuk(bugs, and we had a lot of them growing up), tukat(change), mati(die), babi(pig, actually a very handy insult), umm I'm blanking but I'm sure I'm forgetting some
