Observe old reruns of Gallagher. Towards the end of every show he gets out the sledge-o-matic. I think that may cure your problem

Turn off your computer.

I'd suggest first deleting your accounts and uninstalling the game. Otherwise you will just go back to it, without a doubt. The only way to quit is to make it impossible for you to play it. Then once you've got other interests in your life to take up your time, take it up again as it should be, a game.

hack into your own system and introduce a virus. that way, you have to format your pc (make surfe the virus is a pretty annoying one). because the pc needs repairs, it has to go to the mechanic's... so you are with no pc on which to play... and voila! you have nothing to do anymore! now you can go out and enjoy the sun... get some friends and organise a hike. you might use your bike to go somewhere far away, or you can join a sports club and start playing football or rugby to burn off those extra calories and testosterone from your system. hope this helped you! ps... if you're no expert hacker, you can always put your mother's broom handle in your monitor... it's easy enough to do and requires no extra skills. also, it might take longer to get repaired. :p

Get someone you can trust to put a parental control on your account and not tell you the password. You wont even be able to get into the game with that on. They can set it so you only play certain days/hours etc.

I know nothing about your life, so these are random suggestions: Get a job Go to school Read a book Start a garden In short, find other things that you can get involved in--a little bit at a time. However, given you call yourself "game guru", you may be working on this for awhile.

There’s this thing called Answerbag that will happily replace your old addiction with a new one. You should try it sometime. ;-)

I would say set some timelines for how long you play, be it 30 minutes a day to 2 hours a day, and WHATEVER you do, get off RIGHT THEN. If you don't like that method, go fulfill a quest and then get off, or even get off the next time you level up, assuming you do level up in Wow. Wow. I used to think I know my mmorpg's, but I guess I am slipping. Can I borrow your copy when you log off? (puppy eyes)

Download a Mod manager/updater. Then download EVERY mod they offer. Playing WoW will become a chore, unless you're using some experimental army computer. (Make sure all the addons are turned on)
-
Cancel your subscription. Cancel your broadband. Take the sharp end of a screwdriver to your WOW CDs. Take a hammer to your hard drive.

I know just how you feel I went through the same thing I'd just hide away in my room and play games for hours but then one day I realised I let the would pass me by people would say to me have you heard about someone who I new just died. You see you can't hide away from life because the more you hide the harder it's going to hit you when you decide to face it.What I tend to do is take walks to clear my mind I now it sounds corney but it helps you think a lot about life and stuff I hope this helps you to get back on track. http://www.usfine.com

I'm addicted too well i was addicted first delete all your guys and accounts then turn off your computer. Get more things friends other stuff like that in your life. Now if you don't want to quit then you can just set a timer when it goes off stop playing or join some sports that take up time then you only have a little time to play soon you will get less and less play time and soon you will not even know you played because you will be all interactive with your activities that you wont even think about it. Hope I helped.

find other interesting things to do.

I do not do raids or dungeons until I am lvl 80, so usually I quit after leveling once. Then I force myself to go and do something else. Another game or something I still have to do. Force yourself to do something else so you can reward yourself later by playing warcraft. If there are no friends waiting for you or no one else wanting something from you than there is ofcourse no need to cut your playing time down unless you find it bothersome yourself.

Heres my suggestion, take it or leave it really :P Having helped many people with this problem, I know firsthand how addicting it can be. 1. Find a family or friend whom you trust and listen to to go to the parental settings in your account with you, and set up how much time you are allowed to play. 2. Find some other things to do to occupy some time, so that you just don't get to play much anymore on top of you parental controls limit. this should cut down (assuming you play 24/7, solely for example purposes,) 3-4 days (60-75% of your playing time,) out of your time. Get involved with friends too!

Go do something to help another person. Get out of your own head and your self absorbed idea of spending the day. Go feed the homeless or something.
