If an American citizen moves to Germany, or any other foreign country, are they called American-Germans?

I'm sorry, there is every possibility Americans in Germany may be called yanks but they mean it fondly

I'm not called an American-Belgian, unless it's me doing it trying to be funny. Most people, IF they bring attention to my citizenship, call me American.

They would only become known as such if there was a large enough community of them, living in a reasonbly close area.
