Pea Coats are a good wearable coat fall and winter. What I think differentiates if it is ok for Canadian Winters or not depends on the lining and the material. I have seen fur Pea Coats that can keep all warm in very LOW temperatures!!! I have also seen poly-blend Pea Coats that dont help in a Chicago wind storm. So it can be worn during winter, however, make sure the material is decent and legit!!

YES I have a pea coat and I live in toronto. Along with a sweater, gloves and a hat, it is enough to keep me warm.
