So was I. I did not "volunteer" to go to the place I went. Not many did. I was just given orders to go...so I went. We were, if nothing else, a bunch of kids who looked out for each other. That is what we did. We took care of each other. Oh, we did our "job". But, the job was often confusing. We were on the line, but the government was often confused what it wanted to do. Or how to do it. And we knew we did not have the country behind us. Only our families at home really gave a damn about us.
