Not enough calcium and or protein. Never listen to pet shop employees, they know jack squat about animals, buy a few books and do research on the internet about the animal you intend to purchase.

    Red Ear Slider is it?
Is there calcium and vitamin the diet?
    Hmm, lack of calcium?
    Anyways, we shall stop guessing.
I think the best for you to do is bring it to the vet.
