Would it be a good idea to get a scooter before i get a car. I'm a 17 year old girl and my dad seems to think its the worst idea ever.

I can see your dad's point. Stupid drivers are everywhere. I imagine your dad wants you to have something more between you and them than fresh air. Have you seen those "think bike" ads? They are there because people don't see bikes and scooters. People glance up the road, don't see a car, and pull out in front of two-wheelers that they never noticed were there. So there are added dangers in being on a scooter, too.

If your dad is offering to get you a car, my suggestion would be to take it. Cars are more fun to drive. They go faster. They have heat/air conditioning. Also, as Sarita points out when you run it off the road and hit some peds you probably won't get hurt so bad.
