I think yes. Power, like money, is not something people ever seem to have enough of. If there is an opportunity for more, they will readily go after it. Having a lot is never enough, because they want the most. If they have the most, they still must acquire more so that the others with a lot cannot overtake them. I think that once a person has power, it becomes a need rather than a desire. They obviously like what they can do with it, but they are also afraid to live without it. Especially if they have used their power to abuse others, they are afraid for those others to get more power and abuse them. Therefore, they must perpetually seek more power to maintain the level of security the original power brought them.
