  • I think it is a bad idea. Mom Nature built and destroyed beaches for millions of years - it is a natural process, one which all life forms (Except humans it appears) have adapted and accepted. Dredging is a bad idea, even if it is 'dead' sea floor - the act stirs up a lot of dust and debris (in the water) that can stay suspended and follow the currents for many - hundreds and in the right conditions thousands - of miles. There is no such thing as 'clean' sand in the natural world - that means there are many other things besides sand in beach sand - some living, some not living, all a potential hazard for some fish or sea life that lives away from the dredge spot. If the ocean wants the beach, let the ocean have it.
