  • That is a front heel kick....its incorporated in alot of systems but each style gives it a different name...it shows up in one of the styles i train in which is Shaolin Kenpo Karate...but that's a mix of japanese jujitsu, chinese kung fu, and american kenpo...so who knows.
  • Yes it is a kick used also in Okinawan/Japanese martial arts karate and aikijitsu as well as jujitsu. Front heel thrusting kick. The heel kick is a power kick that can be used against hard targets and is often used to power through blocks. It is often used in Kung fu.
  • A punch is a punch and a kick is a kick for the most part. We use the same kick in German Kampfringen, usually to the guts or the knee. I'm pretty sure the Savate (French Kickboxing) guys do it too. :)
