Is dropping out of high school with the intent to take the GED exam a bad idea and if so why?

A very bad idea. A GED shows that you can't stick it through high school. if you can't get a high school degree in America, you're not worth hiring. Any idiot can graduate high school. You will lose so much earning power by getting a GED. Unless you're getting your GED in order to start college early.

Its a stupid thing to do. Its just laziness. High school is not that difficult. An employer is not going to look at someone with a GED the same way they will look at someone with a High School diploma.
