Robin Cook. He stood alone against the rest of his cabinet, for his beliefs, and (many say) was killed for them. He had principles, which most politicians don't even know how to spell.

FDR, making the decisions through the 1929 depression, through WW2. he had some tuff cards delt to him and i think he handled them well.
