Answer to:
What is your favourite sound?
Sounds that don't last very long are enticing, somehow you can never get enough.
My favorite would have to be the sound thunder makes right before it crashes. You know it's gonna make a big boom, but it sounds like it's sneaking up on you.

When I use a crockpot to cook meat, sometimes the meat turns out dry. Should I fill the pot until the meat is totally submerged in liquid or is there a better way?
Some meats just don't lend themselves to braising (long, low, moist cooking method). The food doesn't need to be submerged (that would be poaching). Try tougher, fattier cuts of meat - beef chuck or pork shoulder (aka boston butt). These cuts contain high amounts of connective tissue called collagen, and when that dissolves (via a braise) it creates gelatin (aka pot roast's best...

Does anybody know when a turkey is cooked thoroughly?
The bug in question here is salmonella enteritidis. He's not friendly; however, now-a-days can be easily avoided despite the fact that close to 4 million cases of salmonella are reported in the US anually.
Medically, to be safe, poultry needs to reach 160F for 15 seconds. At this temperature, the bugs are dead. The much more relevant issue is the bird's condition...

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF A EGG WITH A DOUBLE YOLK COUNTS AS ONE EGG OR TWO ? WHEN YOUR BAKING.
How often do you come across an egg with a double yolk? Instead of recipe consistency, I might worry about where I buy my eggs if I were you.

Answer to:
How many side dishes should you make when cooking Thanksgiving dinner?
Ideally with any meal, balance should be your focus. Thanksgiving is a food specific celebration and therefore has exceptions which we'll get to, but for the most part, think balance. With that said, turkey is the star. The more you have on the table (and the better those dishes are) the less attention is received by your bird.
A balanced meal highlights a protein and is accompanied by...

What does the word "Evenflow" refer to?
I believe it refers to the socioeconomic imbalance in the world today, assuming you're asking about the Pearl Jam song. One of the first live PJ albums I ever purchased was from a show in LA from 1992. Before the band plays the aforementioned song, Eddie says to the crowd, "It's really great when you're in a limo and you put your head to the window and you look out at all...

I'm a David. Would have been a Marianne but would have preferred Olivia, Samantha, Izabelle, Elide or Drew.

Glenlivet or Chivas?
White, red, black, gold, blue and green. All are arguably a waste of money, even amongst blended Scotches. Try single malts, there's a whiskey for every pallette. Lagavulin 16 yr is my personal favorite.

Answer to:
What are the basic well liquors served in a bar?
Vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec and whisky make up a generic speed wrack. Now-a-days, bar menus are so unique that this generic setup is not always effective. Flavored vodkas and liquers (other than triple sec) are usually better suited for the speed wrack. And depending on your crowd, SoCo, Jager, Black Haus and anything else better served in a shot glass should be close at hand.

What's the most disturbing film you've seen?
Blue Velvet is worth mentioning. I had nightmares after that scene in Mulholland Drive with the "guy" hiding behind the dumpster of the diner. And I don't know the name, but there was a movie starring Bjork that involved an execution at the end that rubbed me the wrong way.
Now that I think about it, Bjork, in general, causes me to lose sleep.

What are some noises that make you cringe?
Any noise that makes you scared to look (i.e. those usually followed by a blood-curdling scream of pain and agony).
If anyone has heard a human bone break you know what I mean. If you haven't, try snapping a carrot or using a nut cracker on a lobster claw.
I suppose the sound resulting from someone's head hitting pavement would qualify (remember that scene from "Back to the...

What's so great about pizza?
I'm a New Yorker. Pizza is about the crust - thin and crispy. Sauce, cheese and toppings are nice, as is the paper plate and piece of parchment paper that fresh pizza is served on. The point is, pizza that's been in a box is never as good as a piece fresh out of the oven and is always worth the trip to the pizzaria. The fruit of said labor is a truly sublime culinary experience.

Ok who sing the song in the new gears of war video game commercial for the 360

And in case you were wondering about other catchy TV commercial songs as I was today:
Hem's "Half Acre" (off their album "Rabbit Songs") can be heard on the Liberty Mutual commercial that starts with a guy picking up a baby's doll and starting a domino effect of generosity;
Allegedly, Jens...
