    Great Answer

    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

    On One Hand: No Evidence

There is no medical evidence showing that overdose of any of the B complex vitamins will cause hair loss. There are several painful symptoms of vitamin B overdose detailed by the Linus Pauling Institute, the National Institute of Health and other reputable researchers, but hair loss is not listed.

On the Other: Good for Hair Growth

Vitamin B supplementation--especially biotin (B7) and B12--is actually a recommended treatment for hair loss, according to Dr. Ted Daly at WebMD. He suggests taking at least 3mg of biotin daily as a way to restore hair health. A general B complex multivitamin can also reverse hair loss.

    Bottom Line

Vitamin B overdose is not shown to be a cause of hair loss. On the contrary, hair loss can be reversed by ensuring that you have sufficient B complex vitamins in your diet or by taking vitamin B supplements.
