    The Philippines, much like Australia, were settled about 30,000 years ago. The archipelago developed as a multitude of little kingdoms until the Spanish invasion around the mid 1500’s and Manila about early 15 70’s
    The people revolted against the Spanish and made little progress until the US stepped in on their side; Spain was defeated. At one point the Philippines wanted the US out and declared war. Over a million Philippines’ died before finally accepting the US presence. The Philippines had the first education system in south Asia and had its first University. You may have noticed that they produce an inordinate amount of really exceptional singers.
