How to Identify White Round Pills

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Instructions

  • Step 1:
Ask the doctor. The most reliable source you can use is your doctor. You can bring any unknown white round pills to a physician to get a positive identification on what type of pill you have.
  • Step 2:
Go online. You can use the Internet to use multiple white round pill identifiers (see Resources below). The pill wizards will let you enter as much information you can about the pill, color, markings, shape, and they will pull up a picture of possible drug matches.
  • Step 3:
Get informed. Read up on information about the white round pill if you find a match on the Internet. The more information you know about a drug, especially if you are a parent who found a pill in your child's possession, will help you help them.
  • Step 4:
Contact the FDA. You can email the U.S. Food and Drug Administration with white round pill description. The department that can help you within the FDA is the Division of Drug Information, and its email address is druginfo@fda.hhs.gov.
