How to Change the Dock From 3D to 2D in Mac OS X Leopard

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Mac OS X Terminal ApplicationNavigate to “Application/Utilities/ Terminal” and double-click the Terminal application to launch it.
  • Step 2:
    The Terminal Command to Select the Dock 2D Effect and Relaunch the DockType in an open terminal window the following command and hit return/enter on your keyboard:defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES killall Dock
  • Step 3:
    The Dock in 2DWait for the Dock to relaunch. It will revert to the 10.4 Tiger 2D Effect.
  • Step 4:
    The 3D Leopard Dock EffectReturn the Dock to 3D by typing the following command into the terminal and hitting return/enter on your keyboard:defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean NOkillall Dock
