The short answer is yes, many drugs can cause temporary hair loss. Drugs used to treat cancer, blood thinners, antidepressants and high blood pressure medications, as well as birth control pills and high doses of vitamin A and many more may all cause hair loss.

    • i have to agree that they do, i am 42 yr female, who had very thick hair. i had a heart attack in 2006, since then i have lost so much of my hair, it makes me cry. i take many of the medications listed, blodd thinners, blood pressure, antidepressants and cholestorol medication also. i attribute my hair loss to these meds. i hope they can reverse this process.
