I can't download itunes due to computer problems. I want to download songs for my ipod nano, I turn to limewire and downloaded it. What do I do next?

(Please answer right away, I want to use my ipod for the first time :(, much appreciated.)

i plug my nano into my pc and try to sycn tunes but it keeps saying ipod not connected,why is this
