What date did Christianity first start?

    Jesus and the original disciples/apostles considered themselves Jewish, not Christian. I would say that Christianity became a religion separate from Judaism when the "good news" was being preached to the Gentiles and the debate was raging on whether those believers had to convert to Judaism first. Once there was a faith community that followed Jesus as the "Son of God", but wasn't Jewish -- ta da! -- Christianity.
