Imagine if parents had to respect the right of their child's decisions... suddenly every 3 year old would be totally empowered in the grocery store to scream bloody murder that they have DECIDED they NEED a candy bar. Mom knows this is ludicrous, but hey - with the new law passed, she must 'respect his decision' and get him a candy bar. There is a reason children are raised in their parent's homes until they are at a certain level of maturity -- simply put: they are not fully capable of doing everything that is required of an adult. Among those things is the ability to think in big picture terms, or often, objectively.
As far as abortion and underage girls is considered... parents should be required to give consent for an abortion, just like they must give permission to the school to take them on a field trip. There is a reason we have parents. Let them do their job!
