When I shopped engagement rings for my wife it was very important to me that I was giving her a quality stone. I spent months researching and in the end she was just happy to get the ring. Clarity was one of the 4 C's I found was not as important to her as I thought it would be. I found that clarity in the vs1, vs2, Si1, and Si2 area presented a great buy and helped me afford an upgrade in the other 3 out of 4 C's. Just be careful of larger cracks that could grow over time. As long as we couldn't see the inclusions via the naked eye we were happy. After all the effort I put into my purchase i felt good about the ring I gave to my wife. She still to this day doesn't care about the 4 C's. She does love her ring still loves to admire it at times.
To us what was important was the size in proportion to the ring i had selected, the quality of the cut, color, clarity in that order.
Hope that helps.
