Do plantation shutters help insulate your home for better AC and heating costs?

    Of course, if you keep them closed it's another layer of insulation. But who would want to do that and not be able to see outside the windows? Might as well be in prison!

    It makes more sense to have insulated windows, blinds you can tilt according to the sunshine, and quality drapery or curtains to keep the heat in or out depending on the season.
