While I might back away from pursuing a "deep" relationship, I tend to keep moving forward to see if there is anything salvageable in the form of friendship. I'm in one of those now, and I'll have to let you know how long I hang in there.

You're reading Sometimes you reach a point in a relationship (not limited to romantic) that you think "what did I get myself into?" When you reach that point, do you back away or go forward and hope things get better? How long do you hang in and keep hoping?

Rosie, it's been so long since I've been able to think of myself (and act on those thoughts), that I'm afraid of becoming a total narcissist if I let myself go even a little bit.
Well, that might be a bit of hyperbole, but I do feel that way some times.
