Help answer this question below.
As a retired UK Met Police Officer I learnt that - to quote: - 'drunken, homeless losers' Unquote. DON'T choose their status! They are YOU or ME in a bad situation. Usual causes are. Mental illness. Marital split ups. Homelessness. Clinical depression and Feelings of no self worth. I hope this doesn't happen to you my friend. As such. YES! I do feel sorry for them.
What are your plans?

My brother is one of them. We have tried to help him countless times. He continues to say he prefers it on the streets and that his companions do also. His reason are drugs and alcohol and the belief that society owes him a free ride. Good answer though...somebody must care. +6

Hi Science Dude. I really am sorry to hear this news about your brother. Was it the drink and drugs that drove him to the streets? I can't imagine living on the streets was his initial game plan! Him saying ‘Society owes him a free ride' is just an 'Attack/Defence mechanism. When you are riddled with drugs and alcohol the world can often seem a great place and 'Off the Cuff' egoistic remarks like that are common place. I agree. Neither you or anybody can help him unless he asks for it. If it happens at all it will be when he hits an all time low like a lot of alcoholics say at Alcoholics Anonymous. Hope this helps my friend.
