Yeah, kinda. There have been some changes. My hero was my daddy. Whenever I saw him I could feel myself light up from the inside. The absolute joy I felt at seeing him! I still remember that feeling, and the way he smelled. How I loved that smell :)
But then I grew up, and saw that he wasn't quite the person I pegged him to be. So I get a little misty and wistful every now and then, because I had to say goodbye to the man I thought he was, and in doing so, I learned that there is really no such thing as heros. But there are extraordinary people who punctuate the mundane with extraordinary acts of kindness.
There are those who practice mercy, and those whose generosity got me to the point I am at in my life. Without them, I would not be here today. I really can't ask for anything more than a million unsung heros walking around. So, I'm okay! I am satisfied with just knowing that they are out there, and that, because of thier extraordinary examples, I was able to become one of them. Man, what a gift. +6
