Is a motorist driving a U-Haul or other rental truck required to stop at truck weigh stations along the interstates?

    It would depend on if the truck was rented for commericial use or for personal use. If a trucking company has to call Penske and rent a 25 foot box truck, and has to display their company name on the unit then it would have to stop at the weigh station. It also depends on the truck that you rent, if you are renting a U-haul without air brakes or a GVW over 26,000 lbs when it would be considered for personal use. If was equipped with air brakes, which would require the driver to have a CDL, and you were grossing at more than 26,000 lbs it would be considered commericial. But that is only my take on the situation. It would be best to get the information before you rent or when you rent a truck from a truck renting/leasing company.
