Help answer this question below.

If a baseball player hits a home run over the fence, but tears a ligament and can't finish running around the bases, does the home run still count?

    this actually happaned last year.

    i forget who hit the home run, but gabe kapler was on second, he returned to tag up on second, then upon seeing the ball go out, he turned back around and blew his achilles tendon. the guy who hit the homer waited on second while kapler was tended to, and they eventually put in a pinch runner, who completed the jog
