this code is not popping any errors, it just refreshes the current page. It should go to the selected dir. any ideas?

there's no way to scan it before you download, because to scan it, you need to download it.
There are several virus scanners that will scan it for you before you OPEN or EXECUTE it, but scanning it before downloading it is an impossibility.
