Langers its an Irish slang term means very very drunk. The statement depends on location in Ireland. In Dublin and most of Ireland it would mean drunk, however the term originated in Co. Cork as a derog. term meaning fool or idiot, but also as a term of endearment.

Go with this with my pseudo Irish accent mind you: It be near top of the maurning and I turn around and see Seamus. The poor lad was near Langers before I got close enough to know that he was already far gone.

I have approximately 1/16 Irish decent which I can claim from Cork Ireland, the home of the Blarney stone. I'm sure most of my archaic relatives were hanged. That is by their ankles so that they could kiss such a beloved stone known for its gift of gab.

Isn't the Indoeuropean similarity with the Iranian word nâdân striking.
