The correct spelling in written English is colour. Many words are altered by English speaking nations as they find them easier to pronounce. As long as we all understand the alternative spelling of the words it really does not matter.

    • It sounds more like culur when spoken doesn’t it? And when you do a spell check 'Colour' comes up as an alternative.

    • There are many French words in the English language which stem from the Norman Invasion. There are also many similar German words from Anglo Saxon times.Other words like Bungalow,Shampoo,Pyjamas all come from Britains colonial days in India.
