Can deaf people have tinnitus; and if they did, how would they know?

    It depends on the type of deafness being discussed. If you are referring to nerve deafness, no. Nothing from the ear makes it to the brain. Tinnitus is actually a type of conductive deafness, so the answer here would be yes.
