Help answer this question below.

I have two dates, one starting date and one ending date, there is a time line between the dates, if I go beyond the end date I would like the cell to turn Red, to indicate that I have gone beyond the ending date, what formula do I use to achieve this.

    Select the cell.
    Go to the Format... Conditional Formatting menu.
    Select 'Greater than' for the cell value and enter the ending date.
    Click on the Format button and select the colour you want.
    Click OK twice.
