    • many ppl have a problem with the word marrige being used.
I have followed the issue from the start, since the 1980's on Arsenio Hall
And the arguement started with Gay's not having the same perks of mairred couples.
I think the situation would change if it was a civil union was used. There wouldn't be as much resistance to the idea of 'gay marrige'
No piece of paper can define the love one person has for someone else. If someone needs to be 'married' to be in a commited relationship or to quantify their love, they shouldn't be together regardless of orientation.
So I don't see the problem with the same recognition of a marrige or a legal union.
As long as insurance companies discounts, health benefits, etc would apply to civil unions, in the same way that they would a marrige

    • My second marriage was performed by a Justice of the Peace and was made legal by the state. Wasn't that a civil union? I think what I am asking is what is the difference?
