Are tattoos a sin?

    I am a Christian and I do believe in sin. I believe that a sin is anything that disgraces God. I don't believe that tattoos disgrace God, therefore, I do not believe that getting a tattoo is a sin.

    As for the rule in Leviticus, that had to do with an entirely different time. Pagans in those days would cut and mark themselves in remembrance of the dead. God made this rule so that his people would be set apart from the pagans. We are no longer under the Old Testament [no, not even under the Ten Commandments. Jesus summed those up in the NT when he said to love God with your entire heart and love your neighbor as yourself] so this rule does not pertain to us any longer.
